Sam Allardyce has told talkSPORT he WOULD consider a return as manager of Bolton Wanderers, but only if someone with big ambitions takes control of the club.
The Championship outfit are still yet to find a new buyer as they face the threat of liquidation or administration.
A pivotal week for the Trotters has got off to the worst possible start, with their players going on strike after employees were not paid on time for the second month in a row.
On Wednesday, the High Court will hear a winding-up petition issued by HMRC over an unpaid tax bill of £1.2million.
Controversial owner Ken Anderson had been hoping to sell Bolton before the hearing, having been given more time to find a buyer when the case was adjourned on March 20, and has insisted in a club statement that he IS close to selling the club.
Allardyce – who was in charge during the club’s most successful period in their recent history – has revealed he has spoken to several prospective buyers.
However, according to the former boss, none of them had a long-term plan for Bolton or showed any ambition to help get them back to the Premier League.
Speaking on Tuesday’s Sports Breakfast, Big Sam said: â€Å“Some people who have been looking to buy the club have contacted me and asked me about my position, in terms of if I would take a role back at the Wanderers.
â€Å“But none of the people I spoke with have showed enough ambition financially to take the club into a good, stable position and build it to go forward to try and get back into the Premier League.
â€Å“I’m talking about maybe a three to four or even a five-year plan going forward, but all I’ve seen are people wanting to buy the club and then decide what they want to do with it.

â€Å“I haven’t given any indication if I want to go back to Wanderers, because no one has come up with a plan for the future of the football club and the players on the field, rather than the actual business side.
â€Å“It really needs somebody out there with enough financial clout to invest in the club and be able to look after the football side.
â€Å“It needs somebody to enjoy owing a football club and building it to be successful again, because it has everything it needs in the town to be successful.â€
