Tottenham have beaten Everton to the £25m signing of Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes, according to reports.
Spanish publication Sport claim that Mauricio Pochettino’s men have won the race to sign the 25-year-old – who has impressed during his season-long loan at Goodison Park.
The Toffees paid £2.1m to land the Portuguese international on loan – but do not exercise an option to sign the midfielder permanently.
It is believed representatives of his agent have met with Spurs as a move edges closer to completion.
Gomes is not expected to return to the Nou Camp this summer and with the north London club potentially preparing for the possibility of Christian Eriksen moving on – they are in need of reinforcements.

Everton are unlikely to be able to match the financial demands of their Premier League rivals, but with Barca keen on a sale the deal may still be feasible for the Merseyside club.
Gomes joined Barca from Valencia in 2016 in a deal worth up to £47m, but failed to ever settle into life at the Catalan giants.
