Tottenham have finally opened their new stadium after 690 days of waiting.
Ticket-holders have flocked to their new 62,062-seater to watch their side in action at their new home for the first time – albeit nine months later than expected.
Crystal Palace are the first visitors to the new £1billion arena – and Spurs have unveiled a special shirt to mark the momentous occasion.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have their classic white strip brandished with the words: ‘INAUGURAL MATCH TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR VS CRYSTAL PALACE 3 APRIL 2019’.
Harry Kane and Co will be desperate to put on a show for the fans who have waited so patiently – and former striker Robbie Keane has admitted he believes it’s the best stadium in the world.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, he said: “To be honest I think this is the most impressive stadium I’ve ever seen.
“The attention to detail, the way everything is structured, it’s a fantastic stadium for any player walking out here tonight, it is absolutely magnificent.
“When you walk out of the tunnel and see the grass in front of you, it’s very similar to White Hart Lane and then you see this huge stadium.
“It has the spirit of White Hart Lane, the atmosphere was electric and I’m sure tonight it will be the same. The massive wall – 17,000 people – and the pitch are magnificent.
“After all this waiting around I’m sure these players are desperate just to get out and play.
“I’ve played in massive stadiums where they have the track and the crowd is too far away.”
