Arsenal news: Unai Emery’s astonishing record after 50 games at the Emirates shows just how good he’s been

Unai Emery took charge of his 50th Arsenal game on Thursday night as his side made it through to the semi-finals of the Europa League.

Their 1-0 win at Napoli was enough to see them progress to the final four of the competition.

It has been a long season for the Gunners with at least seven games still to play, eight if they reach the Europa League final.

Unai Emery has won 32 games for Arsenal

Emery is starting to show his credentials as Arsenal manager and showing why they wanted him to replace Arsene Wenger last summer.

His side have won six of their last seven games and conceded just one goal in that time.

Emery has won 32 of his first 50 games in charge – the most by any Arsenal manager.

It is nine ahead of Wenger, who won 23 of his first 50 games.

George Allison is second on the list, with 28 wins, and he is their second longest serving manager who took charge for 13 years until 1947.

George Graham is third with 27 wins from his opening 50 matches.

Emery may feel those wins could be higher, though, as two of his defeats have come against Bate Borisov and Rennes.

The Gunners are also fourth in the Premier League with five games to go.

If Unai Emery can secure a top four finish and win the Europa League then it will no doubt be deemed a successful season.
