Tottenham Hotspur transfer news: Inter Milan reportedly open talks regarding summer swoop for Christian Eriksen

Inter Milan have begun talks with Tottenham with a view to making a summer swoop to buy Christian Eriksen, according to reports.

The Denmark international’s contract expires next summer and he is also on Real Madrid and Juventus’ radar.

Eriksen has yet to sign an improved deal at Spurs, meaning the club may have to cash in this summer in order to avoid losing him for nothing.

And according to Tuttosport, Inter have entered the race for the 27-year-old with the Italian club’s director of football Piero Ausilio, kicking off preliminary talks to try and get Eriksen to the San Siro.

The report has even suggested Ausilio was at Spurs’ Champions League triumph over Manchester City on Tuesday night.

Eriksen actually scored against Inter at home and away in the Champions League as Spurs recovered from a terrible start in the group stage to reach the knockouts.

Inter, who are currently third in Serie A, are looking to close the gap on leaders Juventus and second-placed Napoli.

In fact, they are 27 points off the top with seven games remaining and appear set to lose star duo Mauro Icardi and Ivan Perisic in the summer.

And Eriksen is viewed as a player who can make Inter, who have not won Serie A since 2010, competitive in the title race once again.

However, they have a huge fight on their hands with Real Madrid also reportedly keen on Eriksen, who’s likely to be available for £130million.

Eriksen has featured 200 times in the Premier League at Spurs and has been involved in 110 goals in that run.
