Frank Lampard could be set for a sensational return to Chelsea in the summer as their new manager with the club expected to sack Maurizio Sarri.
According to Italian outlet Sport Mediaset, the Blues will get rid of the former Napoli boss despite him guiding them back into the Champions League and even if he manages to beat Arsenal in the Europa League final on May 29.
He also took Chelsea to the Carabao Cup final, but they were beaten by Manchester City on penalties and despite this, Roman Abramovich is set to wield the axe once more.
The 60-year-old has endured a difficult debut season in England with his football coming under-fire from Chelsea fans and Abramovich is concerned by Sarri’s relationship with the Stamford Bridge faithful who have made their feelings known on a number of occasions.
