Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen is NOT a priority signing for Real Madrid this summer, talkSPORT has been told.
The Danish playmaker dropped a bombshell on Wednesday by revealing he wants to leave White Hart Lane this summer to ‘try something new’.
Eriksen, who is entering the final year of his contract with Spurs, has not ruled out staying with the club. He admits he could sign a new deal, but has said if an agreement can’t be reached he hopes to seal a move which would be a ‘step up’ in his career.
He also said his future ‘depends on Daniel Levy’.
The 27-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid over the last few transfer windows, having developed into one of Europe’s finest playmakers since joining Tottenham for just £11million from Ajax in 2013.

But European football journalist Julien Laurens believes the Spanish giants have other priorities this summer – namely Manchester United star Paul Pogba.
Speaking to Natalie Sawyer on talkSPORT, Laurens said: “I think Real Madrid was a very good possibility at some point.
“But he’s maybe not their number one choice, which is Paul Pogba. If they can’t get Pogba, then they can move for Eriksen.
“I’m not sure his performance in the Champions League final helped him a lot to get that big move away from Spurs, because he was a bit disappointing.
“In some of those big games he had been disappointing, shying away from tackles or from physicality and things like that.

“And for a club like Real Madrid, when you already have players like Toni Kroos, who you’ve just given a new deal to, and Luka Modric plus maybe Paul Pogba coming, Eriksen is not the kind of player you want to go for.
“I’m sure there will be a lot of clubs in for him. He’s got only one year left on his contract so the price can’t be too high because he will be free in a year’s time.
“Even if Daniel Levy is a tough businessman and a tough negotiator, there’s a good deal to make for someone there with Christian Eriksen.”
A summer move for Chelsea's Eden Hazard should be Real Madrid's priority and not Paul Pogba, according to an AS.com poll. A survey conducted by the Spanish news outlet saw 160,000 Real
