Chelsea vs Arsenal: Blues fan takes insane 9000m round trip to Baku for Europa League final – VIA DUBAI

Michael the Chelsea fan proved he’s a true blue by telling talkSPORT about his insane journey to watch Wednesday’s Europa League final in Baku.

UEFA’s decision to stage the final in the Azerbaijani capital has given London-based supporters an absolute nightmare in their quest to try and support their clubs.

There were no direct flights from London to Baku, putting hoards of supporters off the trip for the European showcase.

Chelsea and Arsenal were given an allocation of just 6,000 tickets each, but it is claimed the Gunners have returned 2,300 tickets while the Blues are believed to have handed back around 4,000.

Michael is one of the lucky ones who has made it Azerbaijan, but he revealed he was forced to get there via DUBAI – that’s a 9,000-mile round trip!

“My wife is doing her nut,” he told Laura Woods and Dean Saunders on Wednesday’s Sports Breakfast.

“But when she married me, she married Chelsea. She knew that!”

Michael, we salute you sir!
