Cristiano Ronaldo scored the 600th club goal of his career on Saturday during Juventus’ 1-1 draw with Inter Milan at the San Siro.
Ronaldo’s clinical finish with his supposedly weaker left foot levelled the game, after Radja Nainggolan had put the hosts ahead with a stunning 25-yard volley.
Juventus won Serie A a couple of weeks ago, their eighth consecutive championship. The point lifted the hosts, who currently sit third in the table, four points ahead of their closest rivals, Roma.
Juventus’ triumphant campaign made Ronaldo the first player to win Serie A, LaLiga and the Premier League, often considered the top three leagues in Europe.
The strike against Inter was the Portuguese forward’s 20th goal in the league this season, placing him second in the Serie A scoring charts behind veteran Sampdoria forward Fabio Quagliarella. This is the tenth year in a row the ex-Real Madrid star has registered at least 20 goals in a league season.
Ronaldo has scored 27 for Juventus in all competitions, which follows 450 for Real Madrid, 118 for Manchester United and five for Sporting CP as a teenager.

His 600th strike came on the same day his great rival, Lionel Messi, netted his 598th Barcelona goal, as the Catalans claimed the LaLiga title against Levante.
Ronaldo has taken 803 games to reach the milestone, whilst the diminutive Argentine has recorded his tally in only 682 matches. When it comes to assisting teammates, Messi leads the way with 239 assists compared to Ronaldo’s 213.
Regarding trophies and individual accolades the two are nigh on inseparable. They share the record number of Ballons D’or, with five each. Messi has a better domestic trophy haul, with the victory over Levante sealing his 10th LaLiga title. However, Ronaldo has five Champions League winners medals, to Messi’s four.
Although, with Ronaldo’s Juventus out of the competition, who would bet against Messi clinching a fifth European title this season?
When it comes to the all-time greats, Ronaldo’s 600th strike places him in esteemed company. Football folklore generally lists Brazilian forwards Pele and Romario and lesser-known Austrian Josef Bican as the highest scoring players of all time. However, estimates of their goal tallies vary wildly as they rely on word of mouth and are often criticised for including including goals scored during friendly matches.
Irrespective of their final tallies, Ronaldo and Messi’s phenomenal goal scoring exploits place them head and shoulders above any player of the modern era.
